Crown Her Safe was born from a deeply personal place. In 2022, our family endured the most horrific experience imaginable. In a single moment, it felt as though my heart had been torn from my chest and shattered beyond repair. The ground beneath us appeared to collapse, leaving us suspended by the thinnest thread of hope.

After more than a decade of professional work as a Certified Trauma Focused CBT counselor and a Registered Play therapist supporting families through trauma, I was confronted with a devastating truth: nothing prepares you for living it yourself. Both my personal and my professional identity came to a complete standstill.

Sexual trauma dismantles families in ways that render even basic functioning nearly impossible.

We experienced what so many parents and caregivers do: shock, grief, confusion, and the painful question of “How did this happen?”, "How did I miss this?".

For a long time, survival was the best we could do.

In those moments, we realized how isolating this journey can be, and how few safe, accessible spaces exist for survivors and the families who love them.

Crown Her Safe was created to be that space.

Our healing is a testimony—one I never could have imagined possible. It is only by God’s grace and His unfailing love that we stand where we are today.

Full recovery from wounds this deep ignited something powerful: an unstoppable desire to break down the barriers for those who walk this path after us.

My efforts may reach only a few, but as more survivors heal and thrive, more voices will join our mission.
